Indoco Remedies (NSE: INDOCO) was the most violent mid-cap mover of the session, trading around Rs 236.9, up ~15.6%, on volume about 63× its recent daily average - roughly Rs 152 crore traded in a company with a Rs 2,186 crore market cap.
What we can verify - and what we can't
As of publication, the company had filed no fresh disclosure on the exchanges today explaining the move, and we found no confirmed company announcement dated today. We won't invent a trigger where none is disclosed. What is verifiable is the backdrop:
- Through 2026 Indoco's US regulatory position has been improving: final USFDA approvals for Lacosamide oral solution (January) and Brivaracetam oral solution (February), and an April 2026 USFDA inspection at a Goa unit that ended with zero Form-483 observations.
- The overhang remains real: Goa Plants II & III were classified 'Official Action Indicated' after a 2024 inspection - the kind of status whose resolution, when it comes, tends to move the stock sharply. Any unconfirmed speculation along these lines should be treated as exactly that until a filing appears.
The financial reality
This rally sits on a weak P&L. From filings: FY26 revenue was Rs 1,845 crore (+11% over FY25's Rs 1,665 crore) but the company posted a net loss of Rs 98.7 crore, its second straight loss-making year (FY25: -Rs 78 crore). All four FY26 quarters were loss-making - Q4: revenue Rs 475.6 crore, net loss Rs 23.7 crore. ROE is around -10%.
What the tape says
Delivery was ~48% of traded quantity, slightly below this stock's ~60% average - meaningful positional buying, but with a heavier-than-usual intraday component for this counter given the enormous total volume.
Even after today, the stock is down ~29% over one year, and trades a third below its 52-week high of Rs 349.8. Promoter holding is 58.9%. If an exchange filing follows today's move, that - not the price action - will be the real story.
